Indigenous Support/Supply Policy
As a building and construction company based in Australia, it is important to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate and to support Indigenous communities. This Indigenous Support/Supply policy aims to establish guidelines for our company to engage and support Indigenous businesses and communities in a meaningful and respectful way.
Definitions
Indigenous Australians refers to the original inhabitants of the Australian continent and nearby islands, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Indigenous business refers to a business that is majority-owned by Indigenous Australians.
Policy
1. Acknowledgement of Country
– Our company will begin all meetings and events with an Acknowledgement of Country, recognizing the traditional custodians of the land on which we operate.
2. Engagement with Indigenous businesses
– Our company will actively seek opportunities to engage with and support Indigenous businesses in our supply chain.
– We will prioritize the use of Indigenous businesses for goods and services where possible.
– We will encourage our suppliers and contractors to engage with Indigenous businesses.
3. Employment of Indigenous Australians

– Our company will actively seek to employ Indigenous Australians where possible.
– We will provide training and career development opportunities for Indigenous employees.
– We will ensure that our recruitment practices are inclusive and non-discriminatory.
4. Community engagement and support
– Our company will seek opportunities to engage with and support Indigenous communities through partnerships, sponsorships, and donations.
– We will ensure that our engagement with Indigenous communities is respectful, meaningful, and culturally appropriate.
– We will seek guidance and advice from Indigenous community leaders and organizations where appropriate.
5. Compliance with Australian law
– Our company will comply with all relevant Australian laws and regulations related to Indigenous affairs, including but not limited to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act 1984 and the Racial Discrimination Act 1975.
